Hand-weaved Penan bags from once nomadic tribe of Penan of deep Borneo Island of Sarawak, Malaysia. They are one of the last such peoples remaining as hunters and gatherers and they are also well-known for their intricate weaving skills.
All the products that we see here have traveled a great distance - beginning with the dropping off the polypropylene material after an 8-hour drive from Ulu Baram, and a return trip as finished products that are then send all over the world.
